FHE Lesson: Gratitude Tree

We decided to start the month of November with our Gratitude Tree so that we remembered what it is we are celebrating. We talked about the importance of gratitude, especially in thanking our Heavenly Father for all of our blessings, and then explained how, each week before our other lessons, we'd write another thing we were grateful for on each leaf and then, by the end of the month, our tree would be full of things we were grateful for, just in time for Thanksgiving. We got a free tree and leaf printable from I Heart Naptime and we love it: it came with 25 leaves and the tree. Our kids thoroughly enjoyed attaching everyone's leaves to the tree. In the future, I'd like to make one that's can be reused each year (I'll do a post if I ever get around to talking the hubs into that...). For now, this is working great and teaches my kids the importance of gratitude and remembering that Thanksgiving is about more than just food. ;)
